Opening its doors in December 2005, Foxhole BBQ & Catering, located on the Lyons Campus of the VANJ, has brought home-style cooking to Somerset Hills. We are a competitive food business that trains and employs formerly homeless Veterans as cooks, food preparers, servers and cashiers. Our Pit Master and Business Manager, Chef Ohlweiler, is an Army Veteran who was trained by MTI IBD to smoke specialty foods to exacting standards.
We utilize fresh local produce, choice meats and seafood, and high-quality cheeses and breads. During the spring, summer and fall seasons you can enjoy authentic Texas barbeque and other creative dishes on our shaded patio, which overlooks the MAVERIC Driving Range. Throughout the year we offer specialty smoked meat take-out upon request.
Our food reflects our commitment to exceptional quality and customer service. We are proud to have been asked to cater events from various Senators, Congressmen and most recently the Secretary of the VA.
Chef Ohlweiler will be teaching specialty meat smoking and grilling classes beginning in spring of 2016. Students will learn the fundamentals and art of smoking your favorite meats and seafood with the appropriate woods. The price of classes is $150 for two sessions. Call now to reserve your seat!
